Community Vision: "The City of Baldwin is and will remain a family-oriented community that seeks balanced growth and economic opportunity for all citizens, while respecting our past and envisioning a brighter future."
Located 85 miles from Atlanta in beautiful Northeast Georgia, the City of Baldwin straddles a continental divide that separates the waters of the Atlantic Ocean from the Gulf of Mexico. We are surrounded by breath-taking mountain views and natural beauty. This cozy mountain city is full of warm country atmosphere and local history.
Baldwin is situated in both Habersham and Banks counties. We are served by two different school systems, depending upon which side of the county line you reside. Both are highly regarded by parents and students alike.
We sit at the crossroads of State Hwy 365 and US Hwy 441 providing fast, easy access to shopping, employment, education and recreation.
While some towns are closer than others, we are within 30 minutes of Gainesville, Commerce, Cornelia, Demorest, Clarkesville, Toccoa and Talullah Falls.
Visitors to Baldwin appreciate our hometown feel and friendly atmosphere.
We have a number of popular local restaurants that cater to both visitors and locals. As a growing community, we are expanding our community parks and recreation opportunities. They are a great place to picnic, walk or host a gathering.

Pet Registration
The City of Baldwin has a leash law for pets. Pets must be restricted to the owner’s premises unless on a leash. The City also requires all pets, living indoors or outside, be registered with the City. Rabies vaccination records are required when registering your pets. Cost of registration is $2.00 for neutered or spayed pets and $5.00 for un-neutered or un-spayed pets. Registration is due annually during the months of January & February, and aids the City in reuniting lost or injured pets with their rightful owners.
